YOURNAMEHERE @ymail.com or @rocketmail.com
June 20th, 2008
Hot off the presses…. We’ve just added two new domains to the Yahoo! Mail family. Now you can get that same top-notch Yahoo! Mail experience but with “@ymail.com” or “@rocketmail.com”.
What that means is that you have more opportunity to get the email address that you’ve always wanted. I’m sure you might be happy with bob1123322@yahoo.co.uk, but wouldn’t you prefer just plain bobby@ymail.com? Well, now you have the chance to get the name that you want.
Just go to www.yahoo.co.uk/ymail and register your new email address. I’m going to get mine right now.
Happy registering!
Andrew – Yahoo! Mail Team
p.s. For you history buffs out there, Rocketmail was the creation of Four 11, the company that Yahoo! bought in 1997 that launched Yahoo! Mail.

WOW! You have made me so very happy
I got married in 2006 and was unable to get my married name on any email domain. I tried so many combinations and nothing worked.
Now I have a new account at rocketmail
Yeah!
Buying you all a virtual beer right now!
Thank you

Cool, I can’t decide between a retro rocketmail and hip ymail.. Hmmm, Tough choice, but I’m gonna plum for the vintage option.

Err, just registered a ymal address, but it say it can only work in classic mode. Any ideas why, and if/when this will be resolved?

Hi Stuart,
Thanks for your comment. The issue described above happens only on a few occasions. The issue is being fixed by our engineers and will be rolled out in the next couple of weeks. I suggest that you use mail classic for the time being. Try switching to the new version in about a week’s time.
Thanks,
Andrew - Yahoo! Mail Team

Since my surname is not common in the UK I bet I’m okay with my mail account; but I agree there must be many johndoe8745456@yahoo.co.uk who are happy both ymail and rocketmail have been launched, LOL.
