Last week I told you about the “download all attachments” enhancement for the all-new Yahoo Mail. Well, that was just one of the new features of the all-new Yahoo Mail. This week it’s all about the Mac.

Some of you have probably already noticed that you no longer get the browser incompatibility warning when logging into the all-new mail. However, for those Mac users out there who are still using the classic version of Yahoo! Mail, there’s no better time to switch to the all new mail.

The rollout is complete, so everyone using Safari (please see my note about versions) should be able to use the all-new mail version.

So now a note about operating systems: Folks running the most recent update of Tiger (OS 10.4.11), as well as those using any version of Leopard (OS 10.5.x), will have a version of Safari that plays nice with the All-New Yahoo! Mail. Or maybe it’s a version of Safari that the All-New Mail plays nice with. Either way, they are friends now.

Oh – and for you Firefox users out there, there is also browser support for the Firefox 3 beta version.

Happy emailing (with Safari)!
Andrew – Yahoo! Mail Team

I have been trying to sign in to YAHOO. Although I’ve been using my correct address & password I just cannot access my mail. I am at a loss as to what to do next! Is there anyone out there who might possibly be able to offer me some help?
    I would really appreciate it.
    Thank you

    Hi John,
Sorry that you’re having difficulties logging into your account. It’s possible that you’re not remembering your password correctly. You can find help on Yahoo ID’s and passwords here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/uk/yahoo/edit/id_password/

    Hi
ONE COMPLAINT ABOUT THE NEW EMAIL
In the old mail when I replied to new contact I was able to save the new address to a range of user predetermined categaries, eg work, home, hobby, etc
I can’t dop this in the new email. Any suggestions as I really would like to be able to sort my contacts at the time of creating.
    Regards
    Lyn

I’d like to second the above comment re assigning categories when saving new addresses.
    Cheers,

I really like the new version of Yahoo mail, drag and drop on webmail is a great feature. My one probably not so little request would be for it to support IMAP. I check my mail via browsers on PCs and by POP3 with Apple Mail on my Mac. IMAP for this sort of situation would be brilliant as I could keep all my emails in folders and see them in exactly the same way via webmail or via an email program. Pleeeeeease introduce IMAP it’d make a lot of people very happy I reckon! (well one person at least!)

Has anyone else had a problem with the performance of Yahoo Mail recently. I keep finding that:
    - it loses its connection to the Yahoo servers and is unable to display messages that are in my Inbox;
    - it is unable to send a message; and
    - often it cannot load the Yahoo Mail service after I have correclty logged in.

If you have found this do you have an answer?

Andy, I am having the same problems. Frustrating to say the least.
Sorry, I don’t have the answer though!

Whenever I want to do anything with contacts I have to go back the classic mail. You need to sort out the contacts list. Its much better in the old version.

I still have problems deleting and ’spamming’ emails occasionally, and other functions then also fail to respond.

I am using the correct OS and safari versions.

    Maybe it is just me

    Andy,

    I face the same problems.
    I m on leopard and safari 3.1.
I have been hitting my head on the wall to read the mail in my inbox,it just does not load.
And its ditto again with unable to send messages.

I envy who got have it ALL working ;-)

I would appreciate if someone could point towards the resolution .

why can’t be edit the main page on the new yahoo mail? ie. the news like you can do on your own yahoo page? that would be cool if you could alter your mail a bit more

In order to effectively use safari for windows to access yahoomail servers, you have to install javascipt from http://www.java.com and for mozilla firefox, my favorite, you might want to install windows service pack comaptible to your PC from microsoft website. It does really work with improved speed and graphics as well.
If you got the concepts of FTP and HTTP, yahoo servers incoming are POP3 pop.mail.yahoo.com - port 110 and outgoing are SMTP smtp.mail.yahoo.com - port 25

Hi, congratulations on the security of your e-mail program , in fact it is so secure I have never yet been able to read any e-mail with it , if it wasn’t for outlook they would remain there for ever . No matter how I try to sign in it will never let me in . PGD.

Same issue as others with Mac, Leopard and Safari.

The Login won’t work for mail. And I haven’t screwed up my ID or password! As usually, Yahoo has put Mac users someplace behind the PC world.
