I love the features of the all-new Yahoo! Mail. But reading through your comments, I see a number of you prefer the classic version to the all-new version. It’s easy to switch - just do the following:

Switch to Mail Classic

Take a look at the image above. When you’re logged into mail, just click the link to “Mail Classic” at the top of the page. Then just click the button called “Switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic”. When you switch back, you’ll be asked to send us feedback. You don’t have to, but we love to hear what you have to think.

Happy emailing!

I have been looking at the new new all-new-mail, and i think it looks even better than the classic mail. it looks more colourful and do even more with it, it will be great when it is launched and i hope it won’t belong as i can’t wait to try it out.

As usual with software developers you have added ‘features’ which I have separate, dedicated software to perform. You will never do the other functions as well as the specialist software does. Stick with what you do well. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

Stop trying to be clever. Let’s have fewer gimmicks. Clean up what you have and make it look less cluttered.

  • 8. Patricia  |  November 6th, 2007 at 4:06 pm

After 3 hours I’m sick of this; nothing anybody suggests makes a difference - I just can’t get back my classic mail - will have to change to another.

  • 9. michael brassington  |  November 7th, 2007 at 11:54 am

I changed to New Beta Yahoo mail and initially found it a little confusing.I now after playing with it find it alot easier to use ( I am not comparing it with the old Yahoo).Although I am still confused why you took away the drag and drop photo option? I like the Spam set up i.e. it initially tells me how many I have got before I view. Colour change I like, making it more personal. Please don’t take way the swap back to old Yahoo,it gives you that more individual feel if you want to go back.As one person has already said,if it isn’t broken don’t try to mend it.

    liked old e-mail better

  • 12. Phil Stevens  |  November 8th, 2007 at 12:12 pm

The new email is a nightmare and clearly not ready to be released. All of the advice of how to switch back is useless, as another change has been made since. There is no tab labelled “Mail Classic”. It now says “Trouble logging in?”. Use this to take you to an ambiguous option of “opting from email” in a switch back to classic.
What kind of Change Control procedures are adopted @ yahoo??

  • 15. B Jones  |  November 8th, 2007 at 10:03 pm

Whilst scrolling through my inbox headings the whole section suddenly became longer and dropped to the bottom of the screen, whilst moving over to the right of the screen, leaving a very small pane in which to read the messages. The ‘folder’ section is now wider than the email section. How do I get it back to its original please?

  • 16. Gemma  |  November 11th, 2007 at 10:46 am

since i have switched i have not been able to go into my mail inbox why is this occuring? i prefferd the old email!

  • 20. Keith Hodgkin  |  November 14th, 2007 at 10:06 pm

I liked the idea of integrating Messenger with the new Yahoo! Mail but it didn’t work. The drop down menu would not open and simply showed Offline.

  • 21. BOB  |  November 15th, 2007 at 5:52 am

I would prefer to use the classic version than the new version because when i switched to the new version i was unable to read even a single mail, this is because when you click to open a mail it does not open. Further now am not even able to switch back to the classic mail since when i click on switch back to classic it’s not talking me there either. Am kind of doomed now. Classic mail is more easier to use. Please advice on how i should go back on classic. I got entice by the colorful setup of new yahoo mail but now am regreting am lossing a lot.

Classic version was better now as i have switched to new version i want to go back to the old version but i am not able to go back.Whenever i click on mail classic it says error on page. Please help.

  • 26. Paul Singlehurst-Ward  |  November 30th, 2007 at 5:31 pm

I switched to beta a long time ago and like it.
The last few weeks, I am getting an error message when I try to access my email which says “Ouch!” and some other message about error 500 or something similar. I am then told the new mail is unavailable and I have to use classic which works but I much prefer the new mail.
Why is this happening? I have submitted a complaint but no comment or resolution has been forthcoming to date.

  • 27. Ann  |  December 4th, 2007 at 5:45 pm

Classic mail was better. Less confusing

  • 28. melissa  |  December 11th, 2007 at 5:17 pm

i tried swapping back to classic email and it does nothing at all. what do i do . this new site will not let me send emails its driving me crazy

  • 29. py  |  December 16th, 2007 at 5:15 am

the new classic mail is ridiculous. you cannot delete mail, write mail, forward mail, do nothing with at all. whoever invented that did a nasty job. i need to go back to the old mail but cannot even do that. i’m afraid, i might have to switch to different company.

  • 30. shyanne  |  December 16th, 2007 at 6:00 am

I agree with everyone who said that the new yahoo mail version is a nightmare.I cant forwad or sign in, i prefer the old version.I was automaticly switched to the new version.I dont know how to switch back to old yahoo mail. Please help. Thanks

  • 38. Bonnie  |  February 28th, 2008 at 2:41 pm

I want the old yahoo classic page which is very simple

  • 39. monty_jodi  |  March 12th, 2008 at 2:28 pm

I don’t like the new mail. I haven’t been able to open anything and it won’t delete, I can’t compose or do anything. I tried the “change to classic mail” button and it don’t do anything. I can’t get to my old stuff that I can actually use. This is bad when I run a business and depend on my email system.

  • 40. methurman  |  March 25th, 2008 at 2:41 am

ilove the classic yahoo mail I use it all the time.
i have a bit of a time sometime getting
on to the right website. it is hard to get on the yahoo, classic mail. I .i am used to using. iam a senior citizen and have trouble getting classic yahoo mail.
    thanks

  • 41. Pat  |  March 27th, 2008 at 9:03 pm

I guess I got used to the new version. However, recently I have been having trouble retrieving my msg. Therefore, when I got the msg. that I could select “Classic Mail” to see if it would retrieve faster, I selected “Classic Mail” and boom…my messages came up immed. If I want to go back to the new version, how would I do that? Presently, I will stay with Classic Mail, which is very easy. Thanks.

  • 42. Ma. Teresa Okawauchi  |  April 2nd, 2008 at 10:58 pm

I want to go back to my Classic Mail

  • 43. Hat  |  April 5th, 2008 at 12:54 am

Serenity NOW. The classic is a lot better, easier to access. Let’s just go back to the classic e-mail. This is more confusion and we want less of that.

  • 44. Anne Bennet  |  April 18th, 2008 at 10:49 pm

Stop toying with us and let us go back to our old email format!

  • 45. Roy  |  April 19th, 2008 at 10:29 pm

Give us back the older version of Mail Classic.
Offer the newer version of Mail Classic (with switch-back).
Throw-out the useless new mail, and with it those who persist in changing Yahoo for the worse!

  • 46. Sara Green  |  April 22nd, 2008 at 1:52 am

I want to stay with my classic mail >it was a mistake to change

  • 47. John  |  April 22nd, 2008 at 3:23 pm

Read the other users comments. Now, put mine back to Classic, and leave it alone. When I want more crap, I’ll try it myself. Stop BSn people about how to switch back. You can’t switch back until mail is fully loaded, and any user with good security software has discovered that it takes too long bacause of the crap you’re including. Put it back and leave it alone.

  • 48. John  |  April 22nd, 2008 at 3:27 pm

You asked for comments. I responded.
You noted: “Your comment is awaiting moderation.”

    Let me simplify my comments:
Leave Classic alone. If I want it changed, I will do it.
    Stop changing it for me.

  • 49. Cecilia  |  May 1st, 2008 at 3:38 am

I love the classic version. Please leave this in play for me - do not change it everytime I log on.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I recently went back to Yahoo! classic after getting a slow connection that was giving me trouble while displaying my email. I like Yahoo! Beta mail and would like to go back to it. How do I do this?
    Rianui.

    —–
    Hi Rianui,
There’s an easy way to switch to the all-new Yahoo Mail. You can read how to do it here:
    http://ymailuk.com/blog1/2007/11/01/switch-to-new-mail/
    Hope that helps,
    Andrew - Yahoo! Mail Team

  • 53. robert  |  June 29th, 2008 at 4:04 am

Classic version was much faster with my older pc & why did yahoo remove my stock portfolio info anywhere on new cm.my.yahoo? It was the ony advantage of yahoo over google. Why did yahoo remove “switch back” option at top of page. I opened a google account … not as good as classic my.yahoo; but since we can’t get my.yahoo anymore, & cm.my.yahoo doesn’t work, we have no choice?

  • 54. R & J S.  |  July 20th, 2008 at 6:17 pm

The newest format of Yahoo mail does not put arrows by the email after you forward or reply to them so you do not know where you left off—due to no forward or reply arrows in the box to the left of the title of email.

Also it is much harder to read and find things.

  • 55. P.I.Samuel  |  August 5th, 2008 at 4:31 pm

Your new Yahoo is frustrating. Fed up with Yahoo. Have to spend lot of time. It is good provided you remove all bugs and give
    a clean system.
    Please do something fast

    Samuel

way cant we keep the old Yahoo i dont like the new one

  • 62. Carlene  |  October 5th, 2008 at 6:09 pm

It will not let me open my e-mail at all. Every thing I’ve tried will not work. I have to go back to the classic just to open it. You are to never mess with a good thing anyway. Thanks for trying.
    Sorry it did not work.
