For a change of pace today, I wanted to take a minute to let you know what’s happening with another great Yahoo! site – Flickr*. If you haven’t seen it before, Flickr* is an award winning photo sharing site that has been called “completely addictive”. And for the amount of time that I spend on it, I believe every word of it. Check it out.

How We Are Now
Originally uploaded by
Tate Gallery.

For the very first time, the Tate gallery is inviting members of the public to contribute to the content of an exhibition. How We Are: Photographing Britain (Tate Britain, 22 May — 2 September 2007) takes a unique look at the journey of British photography, from the pioneers of the early medium to today’s photographers who use new technology to make and display their imagery.

If you join this Flickr group* your picture could be on display at the Tate and also on their website. Your photograph can be submitted anytime until 25 July 2007. You can add up to 4 photos to the group.

But before you add your photograph
Please make sure your photograph:
• was taken in the United Kingdom
• illustrates and is tagged with one of the four themes of the exhibition: portrait, landscape, still life, documentary.

Check out the Flickr group for full details and the Tate’s slideshow to see the pictures which are on display so far.

And if you get one of your photos selected, please come back and let us know.

    Dear Andrew

I’m leaving a comment here, because I could not find any other way of getting in touch with someone from the Yahoo Mail team.

This new facility of enabling people who log on to check their mail to chat as well is a real pain. It delays me from getting to my inbox. There are times when I’m really in a hurry and want to get in to my inbox quickly, but am unable to because yahoo mail is busy logging me on to yahoo messenger. why do we have to have that facility? If I want to chat I’ll start yahoo messenger seperately. Please take this issue up with the powers that be at yahoo.

    regards
    sunil

    Hi Sunil,
Sorry to hear that you feel the chat function is slowing down your access to your inbox.  There should be a link called “cancel” as it starts to load up.  If you click that link, the process of logging you into chat will be stopped.  Also, if you sign out of chat using the link at the top of your mailbox window, the next time you login to mail, you will not sign into chat.

    Hope that helps,
Andrew - Yahoo! Mail Beta Team

I just noticed that on the .com yahoo site if you log in to your acount (if you have a @yahoo.com mail address) you can actually use Yahoo messennger from the mailbox.
When will be this service start for @yahoo.co.uk users? Do you have any news?
    Thank your answer in advance,
